Get the Dishwasher Ready for a Move

When we move to e new home we understand how important it is to take good care of the appliances, especially the dishwasher. Today, you'll learn how to prepare our dishwasher for the big move. Let's get started!

Clean the Inside: First, we need to make sure our dishwasher is squeaky clean. Remove all the dishes and give it a good scrub with warm soapy water. Don't forget to clean the filters too! This will ensure it's fresh and ready for the journey.

Empty and Secure: Next, we should empty the dishwasher completely. Take out the racks and utensil holders, and pack them separately. To prevent any moving mishaps, tape the dishwasher door shut or use a zip tie to keep it securely closed.

Disconnect the Water: Now, it's time to disconnect the water supply. Ask an adult to turn off the water valve under the sink. Then, carefully unscrew the water hose connected to the dishwasher. Be sure to have a towel handy to catch any drips!

Protect the Dishwasher: To keep our dishwasher safe during the move, wrap it in a blanket or use special appliance moving blankets. This will provide cushioning and protect it from bumps along the way. Don't forget to label the blanket with "Dishwasher" so movers know what's inside.

Double-Check: Before the big move, double-check that everything is secure. Make sure the water supply is turned off, the door is tightly closed, and all cords are safely tucked away. It's also a good idea to take a picture of how everything looks before packing it up.

By following these simple steps, we can ensure that our dishwasher is ready for the journey to our new home.
